Born and raised (mostly) in Toronto, my love of animals and interest in sustainable food systems led me to pursue a Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Guelph, with a focus on animal husbandry. After working for various farms and local food companies in a number of roles, from farm planning to restaurant sales, I decided to make a career change. I became passionate about dog training while working with my new puppy during the pandemic, and becoming a dog trainer has allowed me to return to my original love of working with animals.
Meeting the needs of a dog in the city can be challenging, but with an understanding of how they think and react to different situations - solutions to every problem can be found! I have a long history of advocating for a more equitable food system so I appreciate that education is key to providing positive change - my goal is for people to gain a better understanding of what our canine companions are thinking.
I’m a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CPT) – and I am committed to ensuring dogs and their owners are equipped with the tools they need to make their lives both happy and fulfilling!
Born July 2020, this pandemic pup is first and foremost a good boy. On top of this qualification he was Carl’s partner in the KPA CPT program and performed admirably despite his lack of experience. Max is the unofficial social secretary at the local dog park and an avid ball collector of all shapes. His life goal is to become a therapy dog, and bring snuggles to the world!
